First of all, Happy New Year!

Today was a holiday for me, so I spent the beginning of it with my gorgeous friend who graciously allowed

me to snap some pictures of her.

Meet Amanda.

Amanda is pretty amazing. She is set to graduate this year from a UC with a degree in Engineering while she has worked, remained active in sports, and maintained an impressive GPA.

Plus she's an incredible friend, to boot.

We spent some time on the red bridge in Fair Oaks this cloudy morning.

Luckily, the rain held out long enough for us to get some nice and moody shots. Don't you love the teal umbrella?

I love the teal umbrella.

It is my favorite color, after all.

She also was a doll and helped me in my first time creating a cinemagraph. I'm very excited about this and hope to do

many more of these.

What is a cinemagraph?

I'm so glad you asked. It's a picture in which there are moving elements within it, yet most of the picture remains still.

Almost like in Harry Potter. It does look fairly magical, and somewhat mysterious.

I will be practicing these, but I can't wait for this to be something I can incorporate into my shoots with clients.

After spending plenty of time on the bridge (because who doesn't love a bridge?), we ventured upward a bit and found this amazing tree. I couldn't help but get at least a silhouette under this guy.

I must extend my gratitude to Amanda for letting me experiment and being a gorgeous subject, as always.

I think you will all agree though, it's not a hard accomplishment for her.

Especially compared to an engineering degree.

Again, I wish you all a Happy New Year filled with good things and hope and love in everything.

Until next time.
